Reflecting on Primary Source videos

The day we viewed our peers movies on Primary Sources was a day I was absent from class.  I heard that it was quite a sad day for many.  The videos were filled with sad words and depressing truths of history.  While I was making my own video on the Dustbowl, I found many pictures and two audio clips about people gathering up their belongings to move to California.  It was yet another point in time when I felt the pain of families who suffered.  I cannot even imagine living such an impovrished life.  I have always been so fortunate and it made me see that I cannot get too swept up in my own juvenile problems and forget the rest of the world.  I want to remember those who are suffering so that I can pay attention and help those in my corner of the world.  I can't even believe that after all we know, all we've learned, there is still so much ignorance and hate.  I wish we could truly realize that we are all the same and choose to help others instead of hurting others.
